Residents, Dogs Escape 2-Alarm Fire in Jamaica Plain

No injuries were reported

Firefighters battled a 2-alarm blaze in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 4 p.m. at 49 Boylston St., according to Boston fire. Photos from the scene showed heavy flames shooting from the second story of the wood-framed home.

Firefighters were seen entering the building through windows.

Two men told NBC10 Boston they were able to escape from the burning building.

"We were just playing video games and hanging out and all of a sudden there was fire coming out of the windows," said James Richardson, one of the men. "There was smoke everywhere. We had to leave immediately."

Heavy fire was knocked down by 5 p.m., according to Boston fire. They said all residents were evacuated safely, including two dogs.
