Food Truck Friday: Make Your Perfect Ice Cream Sandwich With Thousands of Combinations

Owner Mary McPartland opened the truck on July 4, 2011, kicking off the dream with a 1978 ice cream truck bought off Ebay

Beating the summer heat is no problem when the Frozen Hoagies truck comes to your neighborhood.

Featuring homemade cookies and locally-sourced ice cream from Rancatore's Ice Cream in Lexington, Frozen Hoagies is Boston's first ice cream sandwich truck to get a city permit.

Owner Mary McPartland opened the truck on July 4, 2011, kicking off the dream with a 1978 ice cream truck bought off Ebay.

"We’ll have 16 to 18 choices of ice cream and four-to-six choices of cookies, so you can make any amount of combinations that you want. Or you can pick one cookie of each kind, and two different kinds of ice cream, so you can make millions of combinations," said McPartland.

“The fudge brownie cookie is one of my aunt’s recipes, so that’s a family recipe, it’s a brownie recipe. And it’s delicious as a cookie."

Frozen Hoagies also has a storefront at 864 Broadway St. in Somerville, where customers can also enjoy breakfast sandwiches and smoothies.
