Funeral Services, Memorial Fund Announced for Fallen Worcester Firefighter

Calling hours will be held Friday, and funeral services on Saturday

Funeral services have been announced for Worcester firefighter Christopher Roy, who died after battling a blaze on Sunday morning.

Calling hours will be held at St. John's Catholic Church, 4 Temple St., in Worcester on Friday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m., also at St. John's Catholic Church, following a private family procession from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow, where Roy will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., in Worcester.

A memorial fund has been established by Worcester Firefighters IAFF Local 1009 in the name of Roy's daughter, Ava Roy. Checks may be made payable to the AVA ROY FUND and mailed directly to the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie St., Worcester, MA 01605.
