    National Grid Patches Gas Leak in Reading

    No gas was discovered in a search conducted of nearby homes, the Reading Fire Department said.

    A gas leak in Reading that closed part of the area between Route 28 and Pinevale Ave. early Sunday has been temporarily patched, according to authorities.

    National Grid says it plans complete permanent repairs later today.

    The Reading Fire Department received word around 1 a.m. about the gas leak, which was discovered in the street, they said. Police closed the nearby area.

    No gas was discovered in a search conducted of nearby homes, the Reading Fire Department said.
