Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, Gets Anonymous $75M Gift

The gift is part of the school's "Faith Rising" campaign, which aims to raise $130 million as part of the 130th anniversary of the school's founding

A small Christian liberal arts college in Massachusetts has received a donation of more than $75 million.

Gordon College in Wenham says the gift from an anonymous donor is designated for the school's endowment and directed to fund student scholarships.

The gift is part of the school's "Faith Rising" campaign, which aims to raise $130 million as part of the 130th anniversary of the school's founding.

It has already allowed Gordon to increase its institutionally funded financial aid by 15% for students entering in the fall of 2020.

School President Michael Lindsay says the fundraising campaign is a reflection of Gordon's "continuing commitment to stretch the mind, deepen the faith and elevate the contribution our graduates make around the world."

Gordon has about 1,600 undergraduates and almost 340 graduate students.
