Rob Gronkowski is letting everyone know his plans. The New England Patriots star is planning on staying retired.
At the One Mission Buzz Off for Kids at Gillette Stadium, Gronkowski spoke to reporters and when asked about rumors of him coming out of retirement, he offered this response.
"Oh man! Whatever I say, it doesn't matter. It will always be crazy out there, but you can put them to rest," Gronkowski said per ESPN's Mike Reiss. "I'm feeling good. [In a] good place. It's great to be back here."
Gronkowski affirmed he would still be a part of the New England community and participate in events, but it seems that his playing days are, in fact, numbered.

The fascination with Gronkowski returning cropped up shortly after he announced his retirement. The idea of him sitting out for the first half of the season and then returning for a playoff run intrigued many, especially given the state of the Patriots' tight end position. But, that doesn't seem to be in the cards for Gronk.
In the wake of Gronk's retirement, the Patriots will likely rely on guys like Ben Watson (suspended for the first four games of the season), Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Matt LaCosse, and Ryan Izzo to carry the load at tight end. The group will be one of the most interesting to watch in the offseason as players jockey for positioning on the depth chart.
