Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place late Sunday night in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Officers responded to the intersection of Grand Avenue and Emerson Street at about 11 p.m. where a 40-year-old man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Essex District Attorney's office.
The man, who has been identified as Jeffrey Larkin, was taken to Holy Family Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators spent a number of hours on the scene collecting evidence before clearing the scene early Monday morning.
The shooting remains under investigation.
