Warming Trend Continues as We Heat Up Again Monday

We had a warmer day Sunday, about 5 to 10 degrees warmer than Saturday– exactly what we expected!

The warming trend continues into the workweek, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s Monday. Dew point temperatures will also be back in the low 60s, enough for it to feel a little sticky.

We will stay mostly sunny and dry Monday, but a cold front charging in from the north Tuesday could change that. Spotty afternoon thunderstorms are possible as the front moves southeast.

The front gets ingested early Wednesday by Tropical Storm Chris, which should briefly reach hurricane status well out over the coastal waters.

While we won’t see any precipitation from Chris, our seas will be churned up by the winds. Surf should reach 4 to possibly 5 feet along Southern New England beaches. Rip currents will also be an issue, so use caution if swimming Wednesday.

After a quiet and calmer rest of the week, heat and humidity pick up into the weekend, renewing the chance for afternoon thunderstorms. We’ll be stuck in that pattern into early next week as well with temperatures around 90 and dew points around 70.
