Heavy Rainfall Expected to Develop Tuesday

A cold front will move through during the day and will stall south of Long Island Monday night.

A wave of low pressure is expected to develop along the front Tuesday and heavy rain looks to arrive during the afternoon. Rainfall amounts could range from 2 to 4 inches.

It’s still too early to tell where the heaviest rain will set up and it’s possible that it could set up directly off shore. As confidence continues to grow, we will have a clearer picture on who gets what and the exact timeline.

Wednesday, we look to catch a break in between rounds of rain. Showers may return Thursday afternoon. Both days will be significantly cooler with high temperatures in the mid-70s.

At this point, the weekend is looking nicer. We are expecting seasonable temperatures and a good amount of sunshine. It’s too early to tell if we will see a shower or thunderstorm either day.

Weekend temperatures will warm into the low and mid-80s.

Those conditiosn will stick around the following week. Showers and thunderstorms chances will remain around 20 to 30%, but don’t find a change of plans just yet.

Stay tuned!
