Humidity Picking Back Up in Coming Days

Today (Friday): Fog and clouds to fair sky. Highs near 80. Overnight Friday Night: Clouds and fog fill in late. Lows in the 60s. Saturday: Morning clouds, fog and a shower to breaks of PM sun. Highs around 80. Sunday: Warmer and humid, chance inland thunder. Highs in the 80s. (Published Friday, Aug. 16, 2019)

High pressure north of New England is keeping an onshore flow with cooler weather near the beach, but back to the 80s away from the coast once again Friday.

We didn’t have quite as much fog Thursday night, but any patchy fog may take a few hours to burn off. Meanwhile, we’ll have high temperatures in the 70s at the seashore.

Thunderstorms that were very intense across New York and Pennsylvania Thursday weakened as they crossed New England. The storms now in Maine will continue east with increasing sunshine for the state.

Elsewhere, we may see a few pop-up showers or thunderstorms Friday afternoon but most of us will have a nice Friday with seasonable temperatures.

We are becoming steadily more humid, with patchier dense fog developing once again Friday night. Low temperatures will be in the mostly in the 60s.

It’s going to be a little tougher to burn off the fog and low clouds Saturday. Expect a partly to mostly cloudy day with a few showers and perhaps a thunderstorm. High temps will be in the 70s at the seashore and 80s inland.

There is little change for Sunday as patchy fog turns into a mixture of sun and clouds with showers and thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Highs will be close to 90 degrees.

We expect hazy, hot and humid weather the beginning of next week with temperatures in the 90s and a chance for an afternoon thunderstorm. The next cold front probably waits until about Wednesday or so to bring in a new batch of air from Canada for next weekend, hopefully.
