I-93 Ramp Reopens After Hazmat Investigation in Dorchester

The ramp to I-93 north to Freeport Street in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood has been reopened after emergency crews responded to a hazmat incident.

The Boston Fire Department said they responded around 4 p.m. to an alarm sounding at the LNG Tank facility at 220 Victory Road. As of around 4:50 p.m. firefighters were beginning to leave the scene.

National Grid says a non-gas-related incident triggered their fire suppression system that released foam in a small area.

Crews say gas tank meter tests were negative for vapors.

No injuries were reported and National Grid says there was no safety issue. Fire officials were notified out of caution.

Normal operations have resumed at the facility.

All roadways have since been reopened.
