I-93 Ramp Temporarily Shut Down Due to Water Main Break

Massachusetts State Police closed the Exit 28 ramp on Interstate 93 north for several hours Friday due to a water main break in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood.

The water main break was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Cambridge Street.

The city's water and sewer department said they immediately shut down a 12-inch water main and began excavating to determine the source of the leak. The repairs were completed around 12:30 p.m. and water services restored. The ramp reopened shortly thereafter.

Bunker Hill Community College said on Twitter that its H-Building was closed for the rest of the day, and anyone who was inside the building was asked to exit immediately.

No further information was immediately available.
