Power was knocked out after an ice cream truck was involved in a serious crash Saturday in Bourne, Massachusetts.
The driver of the truck had to be extricated after hitting a utility pole on Scenic Highway. He was transported to a trauma center.
Crews responded just after 2 p.m. The power lines sparked and created smoke; an estimated 250 Eversource customers lost power.
The crash initially closed both westbound lanes of Scenic Highway after the vehicle hit a utility pole. One lane was reopened shortly thereafter.
Bourne Police expected the road to be fully reopened after the utility pole is replaced.
There was no immediate word on the condition of the driver.
