Immigrants Day Held in Boston

The rally took place on Wednesday morning at the Massachusetts State House

The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition held its 21st annual Immigrants Day ceremony and rally at the Massachusetts State House on Wednesday.

According to MIRA Coalition there was a speaking program from 10-11 a.m. with Somerville Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Senate President Stan Rosenberg, Representative Juana Matias, and Senator Jamie Eldridge.

Many members of the immigrant and refugee community were present.

Following the program, a rally took place across the street from the State House which hundreds were estimated to attend.

MIRA Coalition says the rally's aim was to send the message that "Massachusetts’ immigrants stand strong, and lots of citizens stand with them."
