Inert Hand Grenades Discovered at Worcester Church: Police

The devices were found among donated school supplies

Police discovered inert hand grenades among donated school supplies at a Worcester, Massachusetts church after responding to a report of a supicious package, Friday.  

The grenades were discovered just before 11 a.m. among the supplies, which had been dropped off as part of a donation drive at St. Bernard's Church on Lincoln Street.

In addition to Worcester and state police, the ATF responded and deemed the grenades safe.

For about an hour, access to Harlow Street was blocked off as a precaution.
