Two northbound lanes and one southbound lane of a Massachusetts highway were closed Tuesday night after a person was struck by two vehicles.
State police received a call around 6:05 p.m. of an erratic driver on Interstate 495 in Marlboro. The caller reported that a vehicle was traveling at an estimated 100 mph.
Moments later, a trooper spotted a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe driving erratically and attempted to stop it, but the man refused to stop and fled from the cruiser.
A pursuit ensued, and a short time later the suspect lost control of the Tahoe and spun out into the center median on I-495 southbound, south of Exit 21 in Hopkinton.
The male suspect fled the car on foot through the wooded median.
Minutes later, State police received calls around 6:16 p.m. reporting that a male pedestrian, who police say was the fleeing suspect, had been struck by two vehicles near Exit 21.
The trooper began medical aid on the 27-year-old Billerica man and he was then transported by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries.

A preliminary investigation reveals the suspect was struck by a 2017 Subaru Impreza wagon being operated by a 56-year-old Medway man and then by the sideview mirror of a 2017 Ford Explorer being operated by a 67-year-old Westford man.
The Impreza and the suspect’s Tahoe were towed from the scene.
All highway lanes were reopened by approximately 9:20 p.m.
It's unclear what, if any, charges the suspect may face.
The incident is under investigation.
