An eclectic restaurant in the Union Square section of Somerville that features New American fare along with beer, wine, and cocktails is shutting down.
According to a source, Journeyman is closing its doors at the business hours on June 3, with a page from the place saying that "It's been a wonderful few years. Thank you for joining us....9 Sanborn Court will be home to a new restaurant later in the summer - the people taking over will be doing something very different, but the address will be in good hands." The note says that Backbar--which is in the same building--will continue to operate after Journeyman closes, while a final farewell event for Journeyman will take place later in June.
Journeyman, which first opened in 2010, has been known in part for its creative menu that changes daily along with its list of inventive cocktails.
The address for this soon-to-close restaurant in Union Square is: Journeyman, 9 Sanborn Court, Somerville, MA, 02143.
