Hot Streak: This July Breaks the Record as Boston's Hottest

It was also the first time meteorologists ever recorded Boston having back-to-back nights of at least 80-degree temperatures

If you've lived in Boston your whole life, you've never experienced a hotter July than this one.

In fact, it's the city's hottest July in recorded history, and residents and visitors are ready for the heat to break.

"When you're at the beach, it's fine. When you're in the city, it's much worse," said Pontus Blume, who was cooling off at Carsson Beach during his visit from Sweden.

The heat set another record: The first time meteorologists ever recorded Boston having back-to-back nights of at least 80-degree temperatures.

Seventeen times this month, the temperature didn't fall below 70 degrees overnight.

The heat and humidity fed into Wednesday's intense thunderstorms, which broke the month's second heat wave.

NBC10 Boston viewers also sounded off on whether it's been too hot. See the results here.
