DA: Road Rage Possible Cause of Fatal Lowell Shooting

A Massachusetts woman has been arrested in connection with Thursday's fatal shooting of a man in Lowell.

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Lowell Police announced Friday that Graciela Paulino, 20, of Lowell, has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Marc Devoe, 34, of Peabody.

Police responded to the intersection of YMCA Drive and the exit driveway of the Gallagher Transportation Terminal at 12:39 p.m. Thursday where Devoe had crashed a Blue Hyundai Accent into a cement jersey barrier. Devoe was taken to Lowell General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation suggests that Devoe and another man had been driving in the area when an altercation between them and Paulino occurred.

Following the altercation, Paulino allegedly followed Devoe and his passenger — eventually shooting Devoe once in the chest.

Devoe drove a short distance before crashing his vehicle.

Authorities believe the shooting was random and possibly the result of road rage.

Paulino was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court. It was unclear if she had an attorney.
