At about 12:42 a.m. on Sunday, Boston police responded to a call about a fight that was happening around Clark and Hanover Streets in Boston.
On arrival, the officers located an adult male victim and an adult female victim who stated to police that they had been involved in a "verbal in physical altercation" with a Lyft driver.
According to reports, Jesse Colon, 45, of Boston, was working for the ride sharing service at the time of the incident.
The dispute had started over money, then the victims stated that they had been dropped off in the area and called Colon after realizing they had left a personal item in the vehicle, according to officials.
When the driver returned, the parties began to argue and that is when the driver allegedly brandished a metal pipe and threatened one of the victims.
The suspect was placed in custody and is set to appear in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Assault and Battery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
