MBTA Late Night Service Changes Take Effect This Weekend

Ridership levels for the year-long Late Night Service pilot program have been closely monitored

Changes are coming to the MBTA's late night service on the weekends.

Beginning Saturday night, June 27, the last subway trains will leave Downtown Boston stations around 2 a.m. That's also the last time you'll be able to make a connection between subway lines.

Additionally, the five least productive late night bus routes, 15, 22, 71, 73 and 77, will be eliminated.

The T says it continues to review and modify late night service to meet customer needs in a cost-effective way. Ridership levels were monitored closely for the year-long Late Night Service pilot program.
