MBTA Green Line Trolley Involved in Crash With Pickup Truck in Brighton, Woman Injured

The woman injured her knee when a bus driver slammed the brakes to avoid a crash involving a Green Line trolley and pickup truck

A woman was injured Wednesday when an MBTA Green Line trolley was involved in a crash with a pickup truck, according to Boston police.

Casstrena Moses, a kindergarten teacher, was on a bus on her way to work when the driver slammed the brakes in order to avoid the crash.

"It looked like there was an accident in front of us and the driver stomped on the brakes really hard," Moses said. "My knee banged against the front part of where I was sitting."

The incident happened at 8:09 a.m. near the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Washington Street in Brighton, according to authorities. Passengers were on both the trolley and the bus at the time of the crash.

Due to the response, there was a 15-minute delay on the Green Line’s B Branch.

It is unclear what led up to the crash. No other injuries were reported.
