A woman suffered minor injuries Thursday when she was struck by an outbound train on the platform of the MBTA Red Line's Central Square T Station, according to the Cambridge Police Department.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority says the person became trapped at the Central Square station in Cambridge just after 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
The victim was conscious and alert throughout the extraction process, Cambridge police said. She was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment.
The medical emergency caused delays in both directions at Central, officials said.
The train was suspended between Harvard and Park Street and shuttle buses were offered during the shutdown, which have since been phased out. Commuters should expect delays of up to 30 minutes, the MBTA said.
No other details were immediately available.
Officials are investigating the incident.
