Falmouth police are advising motorists to avoid the area of 704 Main St. after a major water main break overnight.
The broken water main split the roadway, making it impassable to cars, according to a Falmouth police news release issued just after 5 a.m. this morning.
"Main Street in that area will be closed to all through traffic for the remainder of the day," police said.
Police were unable to provide an estimate on when the water main break would be repaired. They said East- and West-bound traffic would be detoured through the Scranton-Queen-Nye roadways.
