Man Arrested for Allegedly Pulling Woman's Hijab

A New Hampshire man has been arrested for allegedly pulling a woman's hijab in Manchester last month.

Robert Carrigg, 45, of Hooksett, turned himself into police Tuesday morning on a warrant regarding simple assault allegations, according to Manchester police.

Carrigg was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 16.

On June 22 at around 4:45 p.m., Carrigg walked past the 25-year-old woman and did not say anything when he pulled on her hijab at The Farm on Elm Street, according to police. They say the incident caused discomfort to the woman's chin and head.

Police say Carrigg walked toward the bar after letting go of the woman's hijab, but that he left after the woman's coworkers confronted him.
