    Man Allegedly Assaulted Lyft Driver and Stole Her Car

    A Lyft driver was assaulted and carjacked by a man who crashed shortly after, according to police.

    A man assaulted a female Lyft driver in Braintree, Massachusetts, before taking her car and crashing in Weymouth, according to police.

    Investigators say the man told the driver to pull over near the intersection of Shaw Street and Hayward Street around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

    The man allegedly pulled the woman out of the car, assaulted her, and took control of the vehicle.

    A short time later, the car crashed at the intersection of Washington Street and Broad Street, just over a mile away across the Weymouth line.

    Police in Weymouth took the suspect into custody after the crash. His identity was not immediately released. He was taken to South Shore Hospital.

    The victim was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

    The case is under investigation, Braintree Police said.
