Man Charged With Trafficking Heroin

A 25-year-old Massachusetts man faces a charge of trafficking heroin after being arrested early Sunday.

At approximately 1 a.m. on June 7, police responded to a reported disturbance on Glen Charlie Rd. in Wareham.

While en route, officers were advised that a man involved in the disturbance was traveling from the scene, driving erratically and without headlights.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it accelerated in an attempt to elude officers, before coming to a stop on a dead end road off Spectacle Pond Rd.

The operator, later identified as Scott James Peacock of Centerville, attempted to throw a plastic bag from the driver side window, and dropped two syringes upon exiting the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of three plastic bags containing approximately 22 grams of suspected heroin and another syringe.

Peacock is charged with trafficking heroin, failure to stop for police and other motor vehicle violations.
