Man Convicted in Boston Drug Dispute Killing

A Lynn, Massachusetts, man is facing a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of first-degree murder in a drug-related killing in Boston in 2012.

A Superior Court jury in Boston found 32-year-old George Ortega guilty Friday in the shooting death of 33-year-old Steven Fuentes in the city's Roxbury section. Ortega is set to be sentenced to life in prison Wednesday.

Prosecutors presented evidence and testimony during the seven-day trial that Fuentes was killed during a dispute over marijuana sales. Authorities say Fuentes punched Ortega in the face and was later fatally shot when Ortega and several other men returned to confront him.

Another suspect, 35-year-old Anthony Solomon of Everett, was acquitted of murder. Prosecutors say he gave Ortega the murder weapon.
