Man Handcuffed, Blindfolded, Robbed by Online Acquaintance

Police in Arlington, Massachusetts, are investigating after a man was allegedly robbed by another man he met on the internet.

Police in Arlington, Massachusetts, are investigating after a man was allegedly robbed by another man he met on the internet.

The call came in around 2 p.m. that a resident had been bound and robbed on Spy Pond Parkway.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim picked up the suspect at the Alewife MBTA Station after meeting online via a classifieds service where handcuffs and blindfolds were consensual. The suspect then stole the cash and car keys and fled from the scene.

Arlington Police were searching for the stolen vehicle, a black 2008 Ford Edge. The vehicle was later recovered near the Alewife MBTA Station.

The suspect is described as a tall man weighing about 200 pounds. He is 30-35 years old, has a neck tattoo, and was last seen wearing Boston Celtics clothing.

The incident remains under investigation.
