A man was killed Tuesday morning after he was hit by a Commuter Rail train in Norwood, Massachusetts.
Norwood Police Department chief Brooks Tweeted of the fatality at 8:20 a.m. Trains in both directions have been stopped, according to officials.
Keolis, the company that runs commuter rail service, said it appears a "trespasser" was hit by the train. The company said it is waiting for first responders to clear the scene so it can assess the incident.
Authorities are asking commuters to avoid the area.
