A Massachusetts man, who had just been evicted from his parking space, faces several charges after driving his car into the building in which he had garaged his vehicle.

Police and fire officials in Dudley responded Tuesday night to a report of a vehicle colliding with a building at 45 West Main St. A physical altercation was also taking place at the time of the call.

When authorities arrived on the scene, the suspect, later identified as Andy Nelson, 40, of 5A Mill Rd., was being restrained by people on the scene. He was taken into custody a short time later.

An investigation revealed that Nelson and the building landlord, William Auger, had been in Worcester Superior Court earlier in the day. Nelson had previously rented garage space at the 45 West Main St. Location. He was officially evicted on Tuesday.

Witnesses say Nelson drove his grey 2009 Hyundai Sonata into the building.

The building has apartments connected to it, and there were people home at the time of this incident, but no one was injured.

Nelson is charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license, operating with a suspended registration, uninsured motor vehicle, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, wantonly inuring real or personal property, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Nelson was ordered held on $500 cash bail.

The building is believed to have been moved from its foundation as a result of the incident. The building has been closed for occupancy, pending further review by building officials.

The matter remains under investigation.
