Man Found Floating Off Cape Cod Dies: Officials

    Several Agencies Respond to Water Rescue in Eastham

    Authorities are responding to Nauset Light Beach in Eastham, Massachusetts, The Cape Cod Times reports a person was seen clinging to a kayak or paddle board. (Published Sunday, April 28, 2019)

    The man who was recovered from Cape Cod waters Sunday afternoon has died, according to authorities.

    Officials responded to a call around 12:20 p.m. for a man clinging to a paddle board and floating in the water near Nauset Light Beach in Eastham. They recovered the man and pulled him onto a rescue boat, according to Eastham fire officials.

    The victim was identified Monday as 52-year-old David Harmon of Orleans, according to the Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney's Office.

    Although it is unclear what led up to the death, authorities said foul play is not suspected.
