Manicurist Accused of Sexual Assault

Tan Le is charged with the alleged groping of a 23-year-old customer

A Swampscott, Massachusetts man was in court Friday for the alleged groping of a 23-year-old customer at his family-owned salon.

Tuan Le was charged with 3 counts Friday relating to the September 22 incident.

Sandy Le, Tuan's sister, says its all just a misunderstanding. No, she says, her brother did not grope a customer at their salon.

"He just took a rest for a few weeks," Sandy Le said Friday.

According to court records, a 23-year-old said she was groped, and that Le allegedly put a hand up her shirt and down her pants.

"Not groped, he tried to give her a massage right there, and he fell one time," Le said. "I think she really misunderstand what he did."

Le, who goes by David, declined a request for an interview when reached by phone on Friday. He said he fell, and used the 23-year-old to catch himself.

"I've been going there for years, Debra Offenhantz said. "Look at my face, did you see me? I'm stunned."

Le appeared in court on Friday. He was released on his own recognizance.
