Few Snow Showers Christmas Eve

A few snow showers will continue to move through New England off and on today, resulting in scattered coatings in a few communities. A couple of spots may get close to 1”, but this snow will have a hard time sticking to the road with temperatures in the 30s. That means travel disruptions are unlikely. South of Boston a few of these snow showers will mix with rain drops.

Skies clear overnight tonight with lows dropping into the teens and 20s in much of Northern New England. We’ll wake up on Christmas with 20s in Southern New England.

Christmas day will be sunny and seasonable with highs in the 30s. Expect very similar conditions right into Wednesday and Thursday thanks to high pressure over the top of us.

Our next storm moves in Friday, with potentially some snow or a wintry mix before dawn in Northern New England. That will then go over to rain as temperatures surge into the 40s and 50s on a southerly wind.

This will be all rain in Southern New England, with totals generally under an inch.

The New Year’s forecast gets more interesting as colder air tries to work back into New England, and a storm passes close by. Just how close remains a question at this point.
