An unlicensed 17-year-old driver is facing drugged driving charges after he hit and killed a woman and injured two others while they were walking their dog in Medford, Massachusetts, according to police.
NBC10 Boston has obtained surveillance video that shows a silver SUV racing by Sunday night, followed a short time later by a speeding police officer.
A few blocks later, police say that same Toyota RAV4 struck and killed 64-year-old Judy Moses as she crossed the street.
Moses' husband said she owned Pathway Home Realty Group in Newton Center. He said she loved mentoring young business owners and those who were disadvantaged. She also considered her dogs as her children.
"What can I tell you, what can I tell you?" Moses' husband said, overcome with emotion. "Judy was one of these people who gave, and gave, and gave. When there was no more to give, she found more, and gave even that."
According to prosecutors, the teen was driving with a learner's permit in the area of Spring and Emerald streets just before 5 p.m. when he hit and killed the Brookline realtor.
A man who says the teen attended his driving school stopped by the scene Monday evening.
"It's a shame, you try and teach them not to be doing stuff like this, and they don't want to listen."
After striking and killing Moses, the teen then allegedly continued to drive on Spring Street, hitting two more pedestrians and their dog before crashing into a Citizen's Bank location near Yeoman's Avenue.
The other pedestrians, identified only as a 28-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, are still in serious condition at a Boston area hospital. Their dog was killed in the crash.
The district attorney's office said the driver was taken into police custody following the crash and investigators determined at that time he was under the influence of a drug. It's unclear what drug the teen had been using.
Although investigators have not released the name of the teen driver, Angelika Diaz told NBC10 Boston on Sunday that she knows him from school.

"He's a great kid. He's always like honest with people. He's an A, B student in school, so it's shocking to hear it's him," Diaz said.
The teen driver, who has not been identified, is charged with operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of an accident causing death, operating to endanger and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in connection with Sunday's fatal crash.
He was arrested by Medford police Sunday night and was scheduled to be arraigned in Cambridge Juvenile Court on Monday. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
The crash is being investigated by troopers assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, Medford police, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
