A warm front will drag a mix of snow and cold rain across New England during the day as an area of low pressure near the Great Lakes passes to the northwest.
Right now, we're expecting snow to not immediately accumulate on non-pavement surfaces except the higher terrains of the Worcester Hills and the Berkshires. This will be a short-duration event beginning at about noon and ending around 4 p.m.
Total snowfall accumulations will range from a dusting to an inch across southern locales to up to 3 inches across southern Vermont and New Hampshire’s White Mountains. After 4 p.m., most precipitation will transition to rain as warmer air works in overhead. Expecting little if any impact on the evening commute.
Highs today will range from the mid-40s across the south to mid-30s across the North Country. The warm front lifts across New England tonight, spreading 40 to 50-degree temperatures from north to south. A cold front swings through after midnight, bringing gusty winds up to 30 mph, scattered snow showers and colder temperatures with it.
Saturday will feature clearing skies and cool temperatures with highs only making it into the 40s south and upper 30s north. A developing coastal system will pass well south of New England Saturday night into Sunday.
While this system will stay south of the region, some snow showers may find their way into Cape Cod and the Islands. Up to an inch or two may accumulate on grassy surfaces.

Latest Timeline, Expectations for Snow Late This Week
Skies will clear across western areas while clouds hang around near the coastal plain. High pressure builds in across New England on Sunday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-40s south and mid-30s across the north. Low dew points will lead to dry conditions for many.
Looking ahead into next week, another coastal storm is expected to develop off of the Carolinas Monday into Tuesday. There is some uncertainty as to how close this system will come to New England but right now, it is looking like a brush is possible with low impacts.
We will be continuing to watch this system closely over the weekend. Towards the middle of next week, a large area of high pressure will move across the country from the Ohio Valley to the Southeast. This will result in pleasant weather for New England with mostly sunny skies and near-normal temperatures in the low 50s south and mid to upper 40s across the north.
