We have jacket weather again today
But at least the forecast is for improvement this afternoon.
Our rain from last night is mostly ended, however in Maine rain continues, mixed with snow in the higher elevations central and north.
Increasing sunshine from west to east today, also increasing wind. Temperatures will be holding in the 50s, except for Connecticut we get into the 60s, and in Maine we are only in the 40s. Wind will increase from the northwest 20 to 25 mph this afternoon, maybe some gusts past 40 mph near the shore in eastern New England, and in the higher terrain.
High pressure from Canada crests right overhead late tonight, which means clear with light wind in western New England where temperatures will get down to the 20s and 30s with a frost and freeze. It may stay breezy in eastern New England holding the temperature in the low 40s.
Tomorrow looks spectacular, plenty of sunshine and light wind for most of the day, high temperature in the 50s, 40s in the higher elevations where if you’re going to hike through the forest in peak foliage you want to have some dry boots, it’s been quite wet in our mountains this week.
In southern New England we could use some more rain, it’s not coming until probably later Sunday.

It’s another clear cool night tomorrow night, with a low temperature in the 20s and 30s east, 30s and 40s west.
Sunshine Sunday morning will give way to clouds in the afternoon, rain may arrive in western New England before the day is over.
High temperature should get back into the 60s with increasing wind from the south.
The next front moves overhead on Monday, periods of heavy rain possible, maybe a thunderstorm, high temperature close to 70°.
We are also watching some tropical energy off the middle Atlantic coast. There may be a coastal storm getting close to Nantucket Tuesday, otherwise we should see clearing again with a new batch of cold air from Canada with a return to sunshine mid week.
