NH Father Arrested After Allegedly Shooting Son

A man is under arrest after he allegedly shot his son in the neck during an altercation in New Hampshire.

Lee Police say that they received a call about a disturbance at about 1:40am Sunday. When they arrived at the scene they found a 21-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to the left side of his neck. The victim told officers that he had been involved in a fight with his father.

Lee Police, along with police from Barrington and Durham, went to the suspects home and took the him into custody without incident. During their investigation, they seized a .45 caliber pistol.

The suspect, who has not been named, has been charged with 2nd degree assault and reckless conduct involving a firearm. He's being held, without bail, at the Strafford County Jail.

The victim was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he was treated and is listed in stable condition.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
