Report: Nearly 50 MBTA Engineers Have Had Their Driver's Licenses Suspended

Nearly 50 MBTA commuter rail engineers have had their driver's licenses suspended, according to a Boston Globe report.

Forty-four of those engineers have had their driver's licenses suspended more than once.

The report cites engineer Dean Walker, whose driver's license has been suspended 39 times. Walker has been caught speeding 16 times and been convicted of drunken driving twice.

Keolis, which operates the MBTA's commuter rail system, said Friday that “nothing is more important” than safety.
