Man Charged With Racing at 107 MPH, Endangering Child's Welfare

A New Hampshire man is facing multiple charges after allegedly racing more than 100 mph on Interstate 93 in Windham over the Fourth of July.

Twenty-three-year-old Daniel Beauchesne of Derry was arrested and charged with reckless driving and endangering the welfare of a child, according to state police.

A trooper was driving southbound on I-93 in Windham around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when he watched a gray 2005 Nissan Altima going extremely fast while passing other vehicles.

The Nissan Altima was clocked at 107 mph on the trooper's radar, which is when the driver, later identified as Beauchesne, was pulled over and arrested.

Beauchesne was charged with endangering the welfare of a child because one of his two passengers was under the age of 18, according to state police.

The trooper also noticed another vehicle driving directly behind Beauchesne's Nissan Altima at a similar speed and that they appeared to be racing. Anyone with information on this driver is asked to contact state police at 603-223-4381.
