ESPN is reporting that Isaiah Wynn, one of the New England Patriots' two first round draft picks this year, tore his Achilles tendon in Thursday night's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles and will miss the upcoming season.
The news was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to ProFootballTalk, Wynn was playing right tackle on Thursday night when he was injured. Marcus Cannon is expected at right tackle in the regular season, but hasn't been practicing lately due to injury.
The Patriots' other first round pick, running back Sony Michel, has also been sidelined with a knee injury but is expected back before the start of the regular season.
