About 6,000 fans took to Boston Common, leading to one arrest, after the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.
Large crowds of fans poured out of bars in the Kenmore Square area and around downtown Boston after the Patriots won its sixth championship in the Brady-Belichick era.
Boston police tell NBC10 Boston they estimated that 6,000 people, believed to be mostly students from nearby colleges, poured into the Common.
Fans were seen climbing into trees and up lamp posts and cheering and chanting in their Pats jerseys.
Police confirmed one person was arrested.
State police say troopers stationed at Boylston Street and Kenmore Square in Boston, along with those at UMass Amherst, UMass Dartmouth and Westfield State University, did not make any arrests.
Police have closed roads throughout the city. Earlier Sunday, city officials said the road closures would be in effect until 1 a.m. Monday morning.
