Patriots QB Tom Brady reacts to Rob Gronkowski's TV gig: 'He'll be good'

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Retired New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski announced Tuesday he's joining the FOX Sports NFL broadcast team as an analyst, and Tom Brady is optimistic Gronk will be a good fit.

"He'll be good," the Patriots quarterback said Tuesday. "He's been pretty good at everything he's done. I didn't know (about the gig). That's good for him. A great opportunity."

When told Gronkowski will be on FOX's pre-game show for Thursday night's Week 6 matchup between the Patriots and New York Giants, Brady responded, with a smile, "Oh, good. Hard-hitting analysis."

Brady added: "It's great to see a lot of our guys get a lot of great opportunities like that."

Gronkowski retired shortly after the Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII in February. He has been busy in retirement -- in addition to this FOX Sports job, Gronkowski also has partnered with a CBD company.

The future Hall of Fame tight end joins a long list of ex-Patriots players to land television jobs in sports media, including Tedy Bruschi (ESPN), Willie McGinest (NFL Network) and Matt Cassel (NBC Sports Boston).
