Police Chase, Arrest Man Accused of Shooting at Car

After a chase down I-89 in New Hampshire, police arrested a man accused of firing a gun at another driver on I-93 in Manchester Sunday morning.

Police say they pursued 52-year-old Alexander Stevens all the way from Concord, where he refused to pull over when they found his vehicle on I-89, until he got off the highway in New London, where he lives, and drove to his home.

Stevens then went inside and refused to leave for a short time, state police said.

He was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, disobeying an officer, criminal threatening, resisting arrest, drug possession and driving after his license was suspended.

Three of Stevens' tires were deflated after police say he ran over three different sets of spike strips they laid out during the chase.

The distance from the stretch of I-89 in Concord to the first exit in New London is between 29 and 31 miles, according to Google Maps.

Stevens is being held on $15,000 cash bail. He will be arraigned Monday morning.
