Police Make Arrest in Ludlow, Vt. Infant Death Case

A Vermont man is under arrest for his alleged involvement in the death of an infant, according to state police on Monday.

Tyler Pollender-Savery, 23, of Ludlow, allegedly killed 11-month-old Karsen Rickert in January, according to the police investigation.

The baby died after police found him unresponsive at the home of his mother, Abigail Wood, and her boyfriend, Pollender-Savery. Pollender-Savery is not the child's father.

In June, the New Hampshire Chief Medical Examiner's Office determined the child's death was caused by asphyxia due to strangulation and/or smothering.

Pollender-Savery was charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to be arraigned at 4 p.m. Monday, according to police. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
