Police Nab Dunkin' Donuts Robber

Sterling Brown allegedly jumped up on the counter and grabbed the tip jar

A Boston man was arrested early Thursday morning after he allegedly jumped up on the counter of a Dunkin' Donuts store and grabbed the tip jar.

Police in Lowell, Massachusetts, were called to the Dunkin' Donuts on Bridge Street shortly after 4 a.m. for a report of a robbery that had just happened. Two employees told police that a man who was inside the store jumped up on the counter and grabbed the tip bucket that is kept underneath the counter, out of sight of customers.

As the man climbed off the counter to run, one of the employees yelled out that she was calling 911. The man then dropped the tip bucket and ran out of the building.

Police found a man matching the description of the alleged robber across the street at a CVS Pharmacy. The man, Sterling Brown, 30, of Boston, was arrested for unarmed robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday morning in Lowell District Court.
