Situation With Barricaded Subject in Salisbury, Massachusetts Resolved

Massachusetts state and local police safely resolved a situation involving a barricaded man on Thursday evening.

Salisbury Police Chief Thomas Fowler told the Newburyport News officers went to do a welfare check at a home on Pike Street at about 2 p.m. when the man allegedly told them he was armed. According to the paper, the man threatened to shoot the officers.

Police blocked off the area to motorists for several hours.

At about 7 p.m., Fowler tweeted his department was continuing to work with state police to resolve the situation. He said there was no immediate threat to the public.

A short time later, Fower said the situation had been resolved safely.
