Police: School Board Official Facing DWI Charges

Police say the vice chairman of a school board in New Hampshire has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Police say 58-year-old Anthony Pastelis of Rochester, was arrested Friday after crashing head-on into a light pole. Police administered a roadside sobriety test, which they say he failed. No injuries were reported.

A New Hampshire School Boards Association official says Pastelis will continue to hold his position as past president until a verdict is reached. Pastelis is also serving his fourth term as vice chairman of the Rochester school board.

A phone message was left seeking comment from Pastelis, who was released on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
