Armed Robber in Custody After Crashing Vehicle, Fleeing From Danvers Police

A man has been arrested in connection with a Sunday morning armed robbery at a Danvers fast food restaurant, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Danvers police responded to reports of a suspect armed with a screwdriver at a McDonald's on Route 114 at 8:15 a.m.

Police spotted the suspect, Ryan Joseph Hussien of Peabody, fleeing the scene in a vehicle. A brief chase ensued until Hussien crashed the vehicle at Route 1 North at the Ferncroft rotary in Danvers. 

Hussien then continued to flee on foot. The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing and K9 crews were sent in to search the area and found and arrested Hussien a few hours later at 11:30 a.m.

Hussien, 25, is being charged with armed robbery. Other charges may be added follwoing an ongoing investigation. He will be arraigned in Salem District Court on Monday. Additional information will be released July 31st.
