Police say bank robberies took place in Springfield, Mass.

Police in Springfield, Massachusetts, are in search of two suspects after learning of robberies at United Bank and Bank of America. Police are asking for the public's help with identifying the men.

On Monday, around 11:30 a.m., police learned the United Bank at 115 State Street had been robbed by a mask-wearing individual. Police say the robber placed three plastic bags around the bank and stated he was going to "blow it up" if he didn't not get the money he demanded.

The suspect fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Officials were called in to investigate the suspicious packages, but discovered bricks inside the bags that were left behind.

Early Tuesday morning, just after 12:00 a.m., the Bank of America located at 1414 Main Street was robbed by a Hispanic male in his late 40s, wearing dark glasses and of a slim build, police say. The suspect passed the teller a note stating he had a gun. He then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Authorities searched the entire area for both suspects, but were unable to track them down.
